Kyoshi Warriors @ SakuraCon

ahhh aawesomeeeee!

Thiiiissssss

I love so much that they went with pants, too. In the Kyoshi Island episode, they’re shown wearing pants instead of skirts and, idk, I just that it was really cool and practical? First time I’ve seen a cosplay with that feature.

AND LOOK HOW AWESOME AND COORDINATED THEY ARE. OMG. Group cosplay win!!

This was one of my favorite scenes in the ENTIRE SERIES.

And not just because they said Skeksis.

I need a gif of the Chamberlain say “Hmmmm”

I PHYSICALLY CAN’T NOT REBLOG THIS WHEN IT COMES UP ON MY DASH
IT’S TOO COOL

It’s called Winterguard. It’s a sport. Those girls are marching band color-guard girls during the summer touring season, and during the winter they compete against other color-guard teams to music. Costumes, props, mats, everything has to be carried onto the gym floor and then taken back away and counts as part of your performance time.
So when Family Guy or other popular media makes fun of color-guard girls, it pisses me off. We are not rejected cheerleaders. We are what you see above. We kick ass. We spin rifles and flags and sabers.

ok that’s pretty badass.

I used to be able to do stuff like that.
Probably still could if I had time and a place to practice, I actually do still have a rifle and a bunch of flags.
But yes, color guard when done right is actually extremely badass.  Most of us ended up breaking ourselves doing it and we kept going through the pain.  I broke my nose once, and got a black eye from a SABER.  We worked hard, we were determined, and we were awesome.
So yes, competitive cheerleading can be amazing. But in my high school, the girls that worked the hardest and were the best performers were the color guard.  We kicked ass.
